The Uranus newly discovered planet has significant role in the mundane astrology. Some traditional astrologers deny its effect totally on the nativity as well as on the mundane affairs. But I experienced its major role for deciding mundane events and I have no opinion regarding to its effect on nativity till now.

It is discovered in the 1781 by ‘Herschel’ and after him it was named as ‘Herschel’. Most of us think that it was unknown to all till 1781 even the great seers of Vedic era were unaware about this.

According to a Marathi author Dr. P.V.Vartik - its existence was known to Maharishi Veda Vyas the author of the ‘Maha Bharat’. His view is clearly mentioned with related verse with its application in his work namely ‘scientific dating of the Maha Bharat’.

The Rta formula of calculating Zodiacal sign of a place is a wonderful invention in the field of predictive astrology. It has many uses and one of them is to know probable trends of elections.

First, observe the annual chart of the capital. The chart of the moment of Sun transition over zodiacal sign of a capital is the annual chart of the state or country.

Secondly observe the transit position of planets on the day of election over the zodiac sign of the capital.

The state assembly election in Uttar Pradesh is about to held in early 2017. Let us try to catch the probable trend of this election through annual chart of the state calculated by the Rta method.

How to calculate zodiacal sign of a place-

Take the longitude and latitude of place in question. Convert them in to degrees. Out of them, use North and East co-ordinate with plus (+) mark and the South and West co-ordinates with minus (-) mark.

Zodiac sign= 9(Latitude – Longitude)

Then make the resultant figure within 360 degrees, after deducting or adding, as many times the value of 360 as possible. It must be within 360 degree and with plus mark and then convert it into Zodiac sign, providing 30 degree for each sign. The value we get should be increased by the nearest Navamsa-pada. This is the Zodiacal sign of place. But for the use of political purposes we should extend it up to last limit of star but within same sign.
