Some truths are not proven by intellect, but by instinct. One such truth is the existence of a Supreme Being—subtly confirmed not by formal arguments, but by the innate tendencies embedded in living beings.
Decisions arising from the subconscious often outweigh conscious ones. This is because the subconscious seems to remain connected to something far larger—the universe itself, or perhaps its origin.
Some animals, moments after birth, already know what food to seek and what to avoid. Others are born swimmers, without any lessons. Birds build perfect nests without formal training in geometry or civil engineering. Certain mathematical savants can calculate prime number cascades without learning mathematics. Even in daily life, we often swat mosquitoes more effectively when half asleep than when fully awake—perhaps because we’re less encumbered by conscious interference.
What explains these phenomena? Could this embedded intelligence point to a deeper guiding principle or being?
Some Notes on Remedial Measures
The ultimate consciousness is the sole true existence in this universe. Vedic scriptures declare: “सर्वं खल्विदं ब्रह्म नेह नानास्ति किंचन” (Chhandogya Upanishad 3/14/1; also, Mundaka Upanishad 2/2/11), meaning, "All this is indeed Brahman; there is nothing other than Brahman anywhere." And, “एकोऽहम् बहुस्याम” (Chhandogya Upanishad, referencing the theme of One becoming many, e.g., 6/2/3), signifying, "I am One; may I become many." This ultimate reality is not merely one or many but rather beyond count or measure. Vedanta philosophy calls it Advaita – the non-dual Brahman. Perhaps it can be conceptualized as a conscious field within which all quantum fields reside. It permeates all living and non-living things in the universe. It manifests in varying degrees of awakened consciousness across all creatures and plants, being most pronounced in human beings, followed by other living creatures, and then plants.
