The 12 signs of the zodiac have a
familiarity with various regions of the Earth. India is also ruled by a certain
zodiacal sign and star. Astrologers have been making effort to ascertain it
for ages.
The great ancient western
astrologer Ptolemy was in favor of Capricorn for India`s ruling sign.
Prof. K.S. Krishnamurthy the modern scholar was also in support of the sign Capricorn
while Dr. B.V. Raman supported the sign, Virgo.
The formula for calculating the zodiac sign of places is of great importance. We can also use it in deciding the zodiac sign of countries. But for the use of political purposes, we should
extend it up to the last limit of the star but within the same sign.*
