Ruler's Forced Departure: An Annual Chart Analysis

Astrological Indicators for a Ruler's Forced Departure: An Annual Chart Analysis

(Reproduced from Modern Astrology, Bangaluru, October 2025)

The annual horoscope of a nation (Varshaphala) can provide critical insights into the stability of its government. Specific planetary configurations can indicate a period of intense pressure, potentially forcing a ruler to step down from their position. The following astrological indications, when found concurrently in an annual chart, create such a possibility.

The Astrological Framework for an Unstable Government

A. The Weak Annual Ascendant

The strength of the annual ascendant is paramount for the overall well-being of a nation during the year.

  • Malefic Placement: The annual ascendant becomes weak if it, or its Navamsa sign, falls in a challenging house as counted from the country's natal zodiacal sign. The first-rate malefic houses are the 4th, 8th, and 12th. The 3rd, 5th, 7th (Badhaka for dual signs), and 11th (Badhaka for movable signs) are also unfavorable.
  • Afflicted Pillars: The situation is exacerbated if the annual ascendant lord or the annual chart's Moon is also posited in these unfavorable signs, especially under malefic influence.
  • Natal Resonance: An annual ascendant or Moon that is longitudinally conjunct or trine to the country's natal sign is often not a positive feature, as it can activate latent natal weaknesses.
  • General Afflictions: Other general factors, such as cruel planetary influences on the ascendant or its lord, or a close association with inauspicious houses within the annual chart, also apply.

B. The Weak Annual 10th House (House of Governance)

The 10th house represents the ruler and the government. Its connection to the 8th house (destruction, transformation) is a primary indicator of instability.

  • 8th House Connection: The 10th house is weakened if the Navamsa of its cusp falls in a sign that is the same as, trine to, or 7th from the Rasi 8th house sign or the 64th Navamsa sign.
  • Malefic Occupants: The placement of the lords of the 3rd, 7th, 11th, 5th, 4th, 8th, or 12th houses in the annual 10th house weakens it, especially if they are in their own signs. Multiple aspects of such lords in the 10th house also indicate an ill result for the government.

C. Affliction to the Annual 10th Lord

  • Malefic House Placements: The most malefic houses for the 10th lord's placement are the 4th, 8th, 12th, and 5th. The 5th house, being the 8th from the 10th, has a "killing" nature for the significations of the 10th house. A strong connection to the 7th house also weakens the 10th lord.
  • Secondary Malefic Placements: The 3rd and 11th houses are second-rate malefic placements. The position of the 10th lord in any of these challenging houses in the Rasi, Navamsa, Trimsamsa (D-30), or Dashamsha (D-10) chart is detrimental.
  • Connection to 8th Lord: Any association, aspect, or relation between the annual 8th lord (or the 64th Navamsa lord) and the annual 10th lord in the Rasi or Navamsa chart is dangerous for the ruler.

D. Affliction to the Natal 10th Lord (in the Annual Chart)

The same principles of affliction described above for the annual 10th lord must also be applied to the country's natal 10th lord, as it is placed in the annual chart.

E. Analysis of the Dashamsha (D-10) Chart

The Dashamsha chart holds special significance for matters of governance and status.

  • The Dashamsha ascendant lord is afflicted if it is placed in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 11th, or 12th house within the D-10 chart; or if the sign it occupies in D-10 corresponds to one of these challenging houses in the Rasi chart; or if it is under the influence of the Rasi or D-10 8th lord.
  • The natal 10th lord, if powerfully placed in the 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of the D-10 chart, is a dangerous indication for the ruler's stability.

F. The Role of Gulika

The position of Gulika is a significant maleficent factor.

  • It is harmful if it is in the 4th, 5th, 8th, 10th, or 12th sign from the country's natal sign in either the Rasi or Navamsa of the annual chart.
  • A placement in the 1st, 3rd, 7th, or 11th houses simultaneously in both Rasi and Navamsa is also detrimental. The same applies if it occupies a Dusthana (4-8-12) in one chart and a challenging house (1-3-7-11) in the other.
  • (Note: Gulika should be determined by assuming the sun rises with its disk center and marks the beginning moment of Saturn's Ashtamsha.)

For a significant event like a ruler's departure to occur, a convergence of several of these factors is necessary; one or two isolated rules are not enough.

Always consider the speed of planets and planets in the house junction. Planets in accelerated motion experience varying effects, positive or negative, depending on their acceleration, as attributed to the house in which they are located. Planets in house junctions also lose some of their strength.

Now let us see some examples-

Case 1: Assassination of Smt. Indira Gandhi (October 31, 1984)

Smt. Indira Gandhi, then Prime Minister of India, was assassinated by her own bodyguards on October 31, 1984. Let us analyze the annual chart of India for that year to evaluate the astrological indications of this tragic event.

  • Annual Ingress Date: February 6, 1984, at 19:17:47 IST at New Delhi
  • India’s Natal Sign: Capricorn (23°20′)
  • Annual Chart Details:
  • 8th House Cusp: Pisces 11s- 09°33′ → 64th Navamsa Sign is Virgo
  • 10th House Cusp: Taurus 1s- 08°29′ → Navamsa Sign is Pisces

Astrological Observations:

1.    Afflicted Annual Ascendant and Moon:

o   The annual Ascendant is Leo, which is the 8th house from India’s natal sign Capricorn — a highly inauspicious placement.

o   The Moon is in Pisces, the 3rd house from the natal sign — not inherently malefic, but not a recommended placement.

o   The combination of the 8th Ascendant and the 3rd Moon severely weaken the vitality of the annual chart.

2.    Weakness of the 10th House:

o   The Navamsa sign of the 10th house is Pisces, which is equal to the 8th house from the natal sign, making the 10th house highly vulnerable.

o   The 64th Navamsa sign is Virgo, and it falls trine to the 10th house, thus transmitting its malefic influence to the seat of power.

3.    Affliction to the 10th Lord (Venus):

o   Venus, the 10th lord, is placed in the 5th house along with Jupiter, the 8th lord — a conjunction that is always ominous for matters of longevity and position.

o   In the Navamsa chart, Venus occupies Libra, which corresponds to the 3rd house from the natal sign, and is under triple affliction from Saturn, Mars, and Rahu — a powerful signal of adversity.

o   In Trimsamsa, Venus is in Sagittarius, the 12th house from the natal sign — another ill placement.

4.    Natal 10th Lord (Venus):

o   The natal 10th lord is also Venus, and thus all afflictions mentioned above apply doubly, making its condition even more critical in this year.

5.    Dashamsa (D-10) Chart Analysis:

o   The Dashamsa Ascendant lord, Mars, is in the 12th house, which is detrimental.

o   The natal 10th lord Venus is placed in the 8th house of the D-10 — a fatal combination for power and survival.

o   The Ascendant of the Dashamsa chart is occupied by malefic Saturn, indicating hardship and obstruction.

o   The 10th house is occupied by Rahu, another strong malefic that often denotes treachery and disruption in matters of authority.

6.    Gulika’s Malefic Position:

o   Gulika is Vargottama in the sign Leo, which is the 8th sign from India’s natal Capricorn sign.

o   A Vargottama Gulika in such a critical position strongly affirms the fatal potential of the year.

Conclusion:

The annual chart for 1984 clearly satisfies several critical conditions for a life-threatening year for the head of state:

All these factors converge to indicate grave danger to the ruler, which tragically manifested in the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.

Case 2: Death of Lal Bahadur Shastri (January 11, 1966)

Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri passed away while in office during his visit to Tashkent, USSR, on January 11, 1966. Let us examine the annual chart for India corresponding to that period.

  • Annual Ingress Date: February 5, 1965, at 22:28:27 IST at New Delhi
  • India’s Natal Sign: Capricorn (23°20′)
  • Annual Chart Details
  • 8th House Cusp: Aries, 0s- 22°13′ → 64th Navamsa Sign is Libra
  • 10th House Cusp: Gemini, 2s- 22°42′ → Navamsa Sign is Aries

Astrological Observations:

1.    Affliction to the Annual Ascendant:

o   The annual Ascendant is exact longitudinal trine to India’s natal sign Capricorn, which is typically not an auspicious feature.

o   However, the 8th lord Mars (retrograde) is placed in the Ascendant and receives the aspect of Rahu, severely vitiating the ascendant and compromising the integrity of the chart.

2.    Weakness of the 10th House:

o   The Navamsa of the 10th house is Aries, which is trine to the 8th house, and the 10th house Gemini is trine to the 64th Navamsa sign Libra — an unfavorable configuration.

3.    Affliction to the 10th Lord (Mercury):

o   Mercury, the 10th lord, is placed in the 5th house with Venus, the 64th Navamsa lord — an extremely detrimental placement for the 10th lord.

o   In the Navamsa chart, Mercury is in Aries, which corresponds to the 8th house, a house of death and danger.

o   In the Trimsamsa chart, Mercury falls in Leo, which is the 12th house trine to the 8th and is under the aspect of the 8th lord Mars — compounding its affliction.

4.    Natal 10th Lord (Venus):

o   Venus, the natal 10th lord and also the 64th Navamsa lord, is placed in the 4th house (Chalit) and in the 5th house (Rasi). Both positions are structurally weak for a 10th lord and indicate vulnerability.

o   Moreover, its position at a house junction (between 4th and 5th) further weakens its effectiveness and symbolic protection.

5.    Dashamsa (D-10) Chart Indicators:

o   The Dashamsa Ascendant is aspected by both Mars and Saturn, indicating pressure and instability.

o   The 10th house in D-10 is occupied by Rahu, which is highly inauspicious for public life and leadership.

o   Dashamsa lord Saturn is placed in the 11th house, offering only partial support.

o   However, the natal 10th lord Venus is in the 12th house in D-10 — an ominous sign affirming the vulnerability of the ruler.

6.    Gulika’s Position:

o   Gulika is in Libra, which is India’s natal 10th house — directly implicating the seat of power and government.

o   Its Navamsa position is Pisces, which is the 3rd from the natal sign Capricorn, another negative placement as per Gulika rules.

Conclusion:

All these factors combined to forecast a high-risk year for the head of state, which tragically culminated in the death of Prime Minister Shastri while in office.

Case 3: Death of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru (May 27, 1964)

  • India’s natal sign: Capricorn (23°20’), using New Delhi coordinates (28°36’50" N, 77°12’32" E)
  • Annual chart date: February 6, 1964, 16:27:45 IST
  • Chart details:
  • 8th house cusp: Aquarius, 10s- 00°57′ → 64th Navamsa sign is Libra
  • 10th house cusp: Pisces, 11s- 25°21′ → Navamsa is Aquarius

Observations:

1.    The Navamsa of both the annual Ascendant and the Moon is Leo, the 8th from India’s natal sign, Capricorn → weak annual Ascendant.

2.    The Navamsa sign of the 10th house is Aquarius, which is the 8th from Cancer and trine to the Libra (64th Navamsa) → weak 10th house.

3.    10th lord Jupiter is in the 10th house (Chalit chart) with Venus, the 64th Navamsa lord. In Navamsa, Jupiter is debilitated and aspected by Venus. Planets in debilitated Navamsa harm the house in which they are positioned. In Trimsamsa, Jupiter is in the 8th house with Rahu-Ketu → heavy affliction.

4.    Natal 10th lord Venus is also lord of the 64th Navamsa and placed in the 12th house in Navamsa under the aspect of the 8th lord Saturn → afflicted.

5.    Dashamsa lord Mars is in the 8th house (D-10); natal 10th lord Venus is also in the 8th → fatal combinations. Dashamsa Lagna has Ketu; the 10th house has Saturn.

6.    Gulika is in Pisces (3rd from Capricorn) in Rasi, and Sagittarius (12th) in Navamsa → inauspicious placement.

Conclusion:
All key indicators in this annual chart — from afflicted lords, negative house placements, involvement of the 8th and 64th Navamsa signs, and Gulika’s malefic position — strongly point to danger to the ruler. Indeed, Prime Minister Nehru passed away that year while still in office.

Case 4: Death of Dorjee Khandu in a Helicopter Crash (April 30, 2011)

Dorjee Khandu, then Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, tragically died in a helicopter crash on April 30, 2011. Let us examine the annual chart of Arunachal Pradesh for the year preceding the incident to understand the astrological indications.

  • Zodiac Sign of Arunachal Pradesh (based on Itanagar coordinates: 27°03′36″ N, 93°22′12″ E): Leo 13°20′
  • Annual Chart Date: August 31, 2010, at 01:36:36 IST at Itanagar

Annual Chart details:

  • 8th House Cusp: Capricorn, 9s- 26°45′ → 64th Navamsa sign is Virgo
  • 10th House Cusp: Pisces, 11s- 21°06′ → Navamsa sign is Capricorn

Astrological Observations:

1.    Ascendant Condition:

o   The Ascendant is Gemini, at the fag end, and it is Vargottama, which typically gives strength. However, it is the 11th house from the natal sign Leo — a house of ambition but not inherently auspicious for safety.

o   Moreover, the Ascendant is afflicted by the nodes (Rahu-Ketu) and aspected by the 8th lord Saturn, which vitiates the protective strength of the chart and makes the person (or ruler) vulnerable.

2.    Weak 10th House by Navamsa:

o   The Navamsa sign of the 10th house is Capricorn, which is equal to the 8th house from the annual ascendant, Gemini — a serious flaw.

o   The 64th Navamsa sign Virgo is also the 7th house from the 10th, and thus casts a malefic influence on the seat of authority.

3.    Affliction to the 10th Lord (Jupiter):

o   Jupiter, the 10th lord, is placed in the 10th house — seemingly a strong position. However:

§  It is retrograde and thus weakened.

§  It owns the 7th house, creating Kendradhipatya dosha (functional malefic nature). Moreover, being the 7th lord in the 10th house is not suitable for the significance of the 10th house.

§  It is aspected by Saturn, the 8th lord, and Mars, the 6th lord— a potent affliction.

o   In the Navamsa chart, Jupiter is placed in the 64th Navamsa sign Virgo, in the 4th house, again under the aspect of Saturn, doubling the threat.

o   In Trimshamsa, Jupiter is in Taurus, which forms a trine to both the 8th and the 64th Navamsa signs — confirming hidden vulnerability.

4.    Affliction to Natal 10th Lord (Venus):

o   Venus, the natal 10th lord, is placed in the 4th house with Saturn, the 8th lord, in the annual Rasi chart.

o   In the Navamsa chart, Venus again occupies the 4th house, in the 64th Navamsa sign Virgo, and is under Saturn's aspect — an unmistakable sign of affliction.

5.    Dashamsa (D-10) Chart:

o   Saturn, the 8th lord, occupies the Dashamsa Ascendant.

o   Its lord Mercury has a sign exchange with Saturn — creating a strong linkage between Lagna and the 8th house, which is extremely dangerous for the ruler.

o   The natal 10th lord Venus is exalted in the 7th house, which might seem good, but exaltation of Venus in the 7th house is not pleasing even in the nativity.

6.    Malefic Position of Gulika:

o   Gulika is in Pisces, which is the 8th house from the natal sign Leo — a strong indicator of danger.

o   In the Navamsa, Gulika is in a sign that is 3rd from Leo, showing some additional tension.

Conclusion:

This annual chart strongly fulfills multiple conditions indicating danger to the head of the state:

All these factors conform to the prescribed astrological principles, affirming that the chart showed a clear risk to the Chief Minister's life, which tragically culminated in the death of Dorjee Khandu in a helicopter crash.

Case 5: Death of Jayaram Jayalalithaa (December 5, 2016)

Jayaram Jayalalithaa, a prominent Indian politician and actress, served as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu until her passing on December 5, 2016. Let us examine the annual chart for Tamil Nadu for the relevant year to assess the astrological indicators leading up to her death.

  • Zodiac Sign of Tamil Nadu (Chennai Coordinates: 13°05′ N, 80°16′ E): Cancer 30°00′
  • Annual Chart Date: August 16, 2016, at 18:40:03 IST at Chennai
  • Annual Chart Details:
  • 8th House Cusp: Virgo, 5s- 06°23′ → 64th Navamsa sign is Aquarius
  • 10th House Cusp: Scorpio, 7s- 11°01′ → Navamsa sign is Libra
  • 3rd House Cusp: Aries 08°42′

Astrological Observations:

1.    Afflicted Ascendant:

o   The Ascendant is Aquarius, which is the 8th house from the natal sign Cancer — a highly sensitive and dangerous placement.

o   The Ascendant is afflicted by Rahu, Ketu, Mars, and Gulika, indicating severe disturbance to the leadership and general vitality of the state.

2.    Malefic Trine Between 10th Navamsa and 64th Navamsa:

o   The Navamsa sign of the 10th house is Libra, and the 64th Navamsa sign is Aquarius — both are in trine to each other, causing mutual reinforcement of malefic potential.

o   The 10th house is occupied by Mars, which is the lord of the 3rd house — an inauspicious influence on the house representing governance.

3.    Affliction of the Annual 10th Lord (Mars):

o   Mars, though placed in its own sign in the 10th house, is also the 3rd lord, thus bringing a negative influence.

o   It is conjoined with Saturn, the lord of the 64th Navamsa, adding further affliction.

o   In the Navamsa chart, Mars is placed in the 12th house with Gulika, and is hemmed between malefics — a clear signal of harm.

o   In Trimsamsa, Mars occupies Virgo, which is the 8th house, further increasing fatal potential.

o   In the Dashamsa chart, Mars is in the 9th house with Mercury, the 8th lord, and in the sign Taurus, which is trine to the 8th house — again emphasizing a life-threatening setup.

4.    Affliction to the Natal 10th Lord (Mars):

o   Mars is also the natal 10th lord, and hence, all afflictions listed above apply directly to both the annual and natal governance indicators — compounding the malefic influence on the position of power.

5.    Dashamsa (D-10) Chart Observations:

o   The Dashamsa Ascendant is Virgo, which is equal to the 8th house from the annual ascendant Aquarius — an ominous sign.

o   The Dashamsa lord Mercury and Mars are placed in Taurus, which corresponds to the 4th house, trine to the 8th house, indicating hidden instability or harm.

o   Saturn aspects the Dashamsa Ascendant, reinforcing loss, delay, and hardship — often fatal in matters of leadership when combined with other indicators.

6.    Malefic Position of Gulika:

o   Gulika is placed in Aquarius, which is the 8th from the natal sign Cancer, indicating serious harm to the head of state.

o   In Navamsa, Gulika is in Libra, which is the 4th house — also a Maraka placement in this context.

Conclusion: All these astrological conditions conform to the prescribed methodology and support the tragic reality that Jayalalithaa passed away in office in December 2016, marking a significant event in the history of Tamil Nadu’s politics.

Case 6: Assassination of Ranasinghe Premadasa (May 1, 1993)

Ranasinghe Premadasa served as the third President of Sri Lanka until he was assassinated on May 1, 1993. We now examine the annual chart of Sri Lanka for the year 1992–1993 to assess the planetary signatures that pointed toward this fatal incident.

  • Zodiac Sign of Sri Lanka: Gemini (06°40′), based on Colombo coordinates (6°56′04″ N, 79°50′34″ E)
  • Annual Chart Date: June 21, 1992, at 19:23:10 IST at Colombo
  • Annual Chart Details:
  • 8th House Cusp: Cancer, 3s-22°08′ → 64th Navamsa sign is Capricorn
  • 10th House Cusp: Virgo, 5s-25°54′ → Navamsa sign is Leo

  •

Astrological Observations:

1.    Afflicted Ascendant:

o   The annual Ascendant is Sagittarius, which is the 7th house from Sri Lanka’s natal sign, Gemini — a Maraka (death-inflicting) position.

o   The Ascendant is afflicted by the Nodes (Rahu-Ketu) — signifying instability, danger, and subversive threats to the leadership.

2.    Malefic Trine Between the 64th Navamsa and the 10th House:

o   The 64th Navamsa sign is Capricorn, which is trine to the 10th house Virgo — a malefic link that weakens the house of governance.

3.    Affliction to the Annual 10th Lord (Mercury):

o   Mercury, the 10th lord, is placed in the 7th house, which is inherently malefic for the seat of power.

o   It is Vargottama in Gemini, showing strength, but this strength in the 7th house actually intensifies its malefic influence on the 10th house outcomes.

o   Mercury is afflicted by the Nodes in both Rasi and Navamsa, further amplifying its destructive impact.

o   In the Trimsamsa chart, Mercury is in the 8th house, and the sign Cancer, which belongs to the 8th house from the Rasi, is involved in parivartana (exchange) with the 8th lord Moon — a clear mark of fatality.

o   In the Dashamsa chart, Mercury is in the 4th house in Virgo, which is trine from the 64th Navamsa sign Capricorn — a damaging position when linked with the 10th lord.

4.    Affliction to the Natal 10th Lord (Jupiter):

o   Jupiter, the natal 10th lord, is aspected by the 8th lord Moon in the Rasi chart and conjoined with the 64th Navamsa lord Saturn in the Navamsa — forming powerful fatal combinations.

o   In the Trimsamsa, Jupiter is placed in the 7th house.

o   In the Dashamsha, Jupiter is again in the 7th house, and under the aspect of Saturn, the 64th Navamsa lord — marking leadership vulnerability and fatal impact.

5.    Dashamsha (D-10) Chart Observations:

o   The Dashamsha Ascendant is occupied by Saturn, a major malefic and lord of the 64th Navamsa — already flagged in earlier combinations.

o   The Ascendant lord Mercury is in the 4th house (Virgo), trine from the 64th Navamsa sign — reinforcing a pattern of affliction from that malefic trine.

o   As noted earlier, the natal 10th lord Jupiter is also heavily afflicted, appearing in the 7th house and under the influence of Saturn.

6.    Malefic Position of Gulika:

o   Gulika is in Capricorn, which is the 8th house from the natal sign Gemini — a fatal placement in any chart.

o   In Navamsa, Gulika is placed in Gemini, which is equal to the natal sign of the country — an extremely inauspicious overlap.

Conclusion:

All elements of the chart confirm that the assassination of Ranasinghe Premadasa during the year governed by this annual chart was astrologically foreseeable based on the prescribed principles.

Case 7: Assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy (November 22, 1963)

John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was tragically assassinated on November 22, 1963. We now examine the annual chart of the United States for that year to understand the astrological indicators that pointed toward such a catastrophic loss of leadership.

  • Zodiac Sign of the USA (Washington D.C.: 38°53′23″ N, 77°00′32″ W): Aquarius 30°00′
  • Annual Chart Date: March 14, 1963, at 11:39:37 EST at Washington, D.C.
  • Annual Chart Details:
  • 8th House Cusp: Sagittarius, 8s- 19°20′ → 64th Navamsa sign is Virgo
  • 10th House Cusp: Aquarius, 10s- 03°53′ → Navamsa sign is Scorpio

  •

Astrological Observations:

1.    Afflicted Ascendant:

o   The Ascendant is Taurus, which is the 4th house from the natal sign Aquarius — not inherently favorable.

o   The Navamsa sign is Virgo, which is 8th from Aquarius — a critical flaw.

o   The Ascendant is occupied by Gulika and aspected by Ketu, compounding malefic influences on the foundational house of the annual chart.

2.    10th House Navamsa = 7th House:

o   The Navamsa sign of the 10th house is Scorpio, which is equal to the 7th house from the annual ascendant, that weakens the authority and stability of the leadership, as the 7th house is also a non-supporting sign for the significance of the 10th house.

o   The 10th house is occupied by the 5th lord Mercury- a serious flaw.

3.    Affliction of the Annual 10th Lord (Saturn):

o   Saturn, the 10th lord, is placed in the 10th house (Chalit chart), which appears strong superficially.

o   However, it is at a house junction, reducing its adequate strength.

o   It is under the malefic aspect of Mars, the 7th lord, indicating conflict and physical threat.

o   In the Navamsa chart, Saturn is placed in the 12th house, a dusthana, and aspected by Mercury, the 64th Navamsa lord — an ominous link.

o   The sign occupied by Saturn in Navamsa is Leo, which is the 4th from Aquarius, and trine to the 8th house — increasing hidden danger.

o   In the Dashamsa chart, Saturn is placed in the 8th house with the 8th lord Jupiter — a direct life-threatening configuration.

4.    Affliction to the Natal 10th Lord (Mars):

o   Mars, the natal 10th lord, is in the 3rd house of the annual chart and aspected by Jupiter, the 8th lord — forming a lethal connection. Moreover, it is in retrograde motion with malefic Rahu.

o   In the Navamsa chart, Mars is placed in the 2nd house, again under the aspects of Saturn and Ketu, both strong malefics.

o   In the Dashamsa, Mars occupies the 4th house and is again aspected by the 8th lord Jupiter, reaffirming the theme of loss through hidden enmity or violence.

5.    Dashamsha (D-10) Chart Observations:

o   Dashamsha Ascendant is Scorpio, a sensitive sign, and it is heavily afflicted by the nodes (Rahu and Ketu).

o   The Ascendant lord, Mars, is placed in the 4th house, a Maraka position when considered for longevity and prominence.

o   As previously noted, Mars as natal 10th lord is already under multiple forms of affliction across charts, making this position particularly dangerous.

6.    Malefic Placement of Gulika:

o   Gulika is in Taurus, which is the 4th house from the natal sign Aquarius — a malefic quadrant for leadership threats.

o   In the Navamsa, Gulika is placed in Aquarius, equal to the natal sign itself — a critical and ominous placement.

Conclusion:

This annual chart supports the prediction of grave danger to the head of state, based on multiple confirming principles:

All astrological rules are satisfied, pointing to a clear and present threat to the life of the ruler — which tragically culminated in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy during the operational year of this annual chart.

Case 8– The Death of U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt in office on April 12, 1945

Zodiac Sign of the U.S.A.: Aquarius (10s–30°00′)
Location: Washington, D.C. (38°53′23″ N, 77°00′32″ W)
Annual Chart Date: March 13, 1945, at 20:53:25

  • 8th House: Aries, 0s- 21°47′ → 64th Navamsa Sign is Libra
  • 10th House: Gemini, 2s- 23°08′ → Navamsa Sign is Aries

Astrological Observations:

1. Afflicted Ascendant:

  • The annual Ascendant is Virgo, which is the 8th house from the natal zodiac sign Aquarius. This is a fatal and destructive position.
  • The Moon is precisely placed in Aquarius, the same as the natal sign of the U.S.A., which is traditionally regarded as inauspicious.

2. Malefic influence on the 10th House:

  • The 64th Navamsa sign is Libra, and the 10th house is in Gemini, which forms a trine (5-9 relationship) with Libra.
  • The 10th house is occupied by the 5th lord, malefic Saturn, along with Rahu.

3. Severe Affliction to the Annual 10th Lord (Mercury):

  • Mercury, the annual 10th lord, is placed in the 7th house in Pisces, its sign of debilitation, at an unsupportive house and is under aspect from an afflicted Saturn.
  • In the Navamsa chart, Mercury is in Libra, the 64th Navamsa sign, and placed in the 4th house with Ketu, under the aspect of Saturn — a strong signature of hidden destruction.
  • In the Trimsamsa and Dashamsa charts, Mercury again falls in Libra, repeating the 64th Navamsa sign — this repetition confirms affliction at every level of analysis.

4. Affliction to the Natal 10th Lord (Mars):

  • Mars, the natal 10th lord, is placed in the 5th house, which is unsupported for matters of rule or continuity.
  • In the Dashamsa, Mars is in Cancer, its sign of debility, in the 7th house, and conjoined with Rahu and Ketu — a powerful indicator of crisis and termination.
  • In the Trimsamsa, Mars is in the 8th house, joined with Saturn and the nodes, forming a classic death-inflicting combination.

5. Dashamsa (D-10) Chart Observations:

  • The Dashamsa Ascendant is Capricorn, which is the 12th from the natal sign Aquarius, implying loss; the Dashamsa lord is in an unsupportive house 3rd.
  • It is aspected by the nodes and Mars, both aggressive malefics.
  • The Dashamsa 10th house is occupied by Rahu, which often brings sudden or unnatural disruptions to the office or authority.

6. Malefic Position of Gulika:

  • Gulika is in Leo, which is the 7th house from the natal sign of Aquarius.
  • In Navamsa, Gulika is in Sagittarius, the 11th from the natal sign.

Conclusion:

The annual chart of 1945 for the United States strongly aligns with the principles of fatal affliction to the head of state. Every key indicator — from the 8th house Ascendant, malefic trines, debilitated and afflicted 10th lord Mercury, and dangerous placements in divisional charts, to the fatal positioning of Gulika — clearly pointed to a year of crisis. As expected, President Franklin D. Roosevelt died in office during this annual period, confirming the reliability of this predictive method.

Case 9: President Warren G. Harding

Death in Office: August 2, 1923
Zodiac Sign of USA (Washington D.C.): Aquarius (10s 30°00′)
Annual Chart Date:
March 14, 1923, 4:25:39 a.m. at Washington, D.C.

  • 8th House: Leo (4s 21°19′) → 64th Navamsa Sign is Libra
  • 10th House: SCorpio (7s 04°50′) → Navamsa Sign is Leo

Astrological Observations:

1.    Afflicted Ascendant and Moon:

o   The annual Ascendant is Capricorn, the 12th from natal Aquarius — a house of loss and retreat.

o   The Ascendant Navamsa is Taurus, which is the 4th from natal Aquarius — also a weak position.

o   The Moon is in Capricorn, also the 12th from the natal zodiac sign — further weakening the chart.

2.    Afflicted 10th House:

o   The Navamsa sign of the 10th house is Leo, which is equal to the 8th house — a flaw.

o   The 10th house is occupied by the 3rd cum 12th lord Jupiter— a significant flaw as both the 3rd and 12th houses are unsupported by the significance of the 10th house.

3.    Affliction to the Annual and Natal 10th Lord (Mars):

o   Mars, both the annual and natal 10th lord, is in the 4th house, but shifts to the 3rd in Chalit, a non-supportive house.

o   It is situated near a house junction, losing strength.

o   In Navamsa, Mars is in Leo (equal to the 8th house) and conjoined with Saturn, in the 4th house, adding severity.

o   In Trimsamsa, Mars is in the 7th house (Gemini) — trine to the 64th Navamsa sign Libra.

o   In Dashamsa, it again occupies Leo, the 8th sign — compounding fatal potential.

4.    Dashamsa Chart (D-10) Observations:

o   Ascendant Aquarius, its lord Saturn, and both form a trine to the 64th Navamsa sign Libra — a harmful alignment.

5.    Malefic Gulika Placement:

o   Gulika is at Leo, the 7th from Aquarius, and the Navamsa of Gulika is Sagittarius, the 11th from natal Aquarius — also undesirable.

Conclusion:

The annual chart of 1923 presents multiple fatal signatures aligned with the tragic demise of President Warren G. Harding. The 12th house Ascendant from the USA’s natal zodiac sign (Aquarius), the direct affliction of both the annual and natal 10th lord Mars by malefics across divisional charts, and the prominence of the 64th Navamsa sign (Libra) across key placements point to a serious undermining of authority. The 10th house and its lord are consistently linked to death-inflicting houses or signs, and even the Dashamsha, a chart central to career and leadership, repeats this pattern. Gulika's placement in the 7th from the natal sign further confirms the Maraka nature of the year. Thus, the death of a sitting president during this annual period is entirely justified by astrological principles.

Case 10: President William McKinley died in office on September 14, 1901

Zodiac Sign of USA: Aquarius (10s 30°00′)
Annual Chart Date:
March 13, 1901, 13:00:28 at Washington, D.C.

·        8th House: Capricorn (9s 22°49′) → 64th Navamsa Sign is Cancer

  • 10th House: Pisces (11s 11°36′) → Navamsa Sign is Libra

Astrological Observations:

1.    Afflicted Ascendant:

o   Annual Ascendant Gemini is Vargottama, and 5th from natal Aquarius — inherently weak for governance.

o   Under the aspect of malefic Saturn (8th lord), flanked by Mars and Gulika in Chalit.

o   Jupiter’s aspect is blemished due to Kendradhipatya Dosha — thus unable to protect.

2.    Afflicted and weak 10th House:

o   10th house Pisces is trine to Cancer, the 64th Navamsa sign — forming a fatal link.

o   Occupied by Sun (Chalit chart), 3rd lord, and aspected by Mars and Rahu.

3.    Affliction to the Annual 10th Lord (Jupiter):

o   Jupiter is in the 7th house, with 8th lord Saturn — strongly negative.

o   In Navamsa, placed in 4th house (Virgo) — trine to 8th.

o   In Trimsamsa, again in Virgo; in Dashamsa, in Capricorn, which rises in the 8th house.

4.    Affliction to the Natal 10th Lord (Mars):

o   In the 2nd house in Chalit, but the actual sign Leo rises in the 3rd — an unsupported house.

o   Mars is retrograde, and in an immovable-immovable sign combination (Rasi-Navamsa).

o   In Navamsa, Mars is in 12th house (Taurus) — trine to 8th.

o   In Dashamsa, it is in Virgo, again trine to the 8th; in Trimsamsa, in Cancer, the 64th Navamsa sign.

5.    Dashamsa Chart Observations:

o   Ascendant Virgo, the 8th from Aquarius — already ominous.

o   Mars and Saturn (8th lord) influence the chart directly — a fatal linkage.

6.    Malefic Gulika Placement:

o   Gulika in Taurus, the 4th from natal Aquarius.

o   Its Navamsa is in Virgo, which is the 8th from Aquarius.

Conclusion –

The annual horoscope for 1901 reflects a well-structured network of afflictions contributing to President McKinley’s assassination. While the Ascendant appears stable at first through its Vargottama nature, its 5th house status and flanking by Gulika and Mars negate this strength. The 10th house, though protected by Jupiter, suffers due to Kendradhipatya Dosha, and is also linked to the 64th Navamsa sign Cancer through trinal aspects. The 10th lord Jupiter is consistently associated with the 8th house across all charts. The natal 10th lord, Mars, is rendered weak due to placement in unsupported houses, retrogression, and repeated connection with trines from the 8th or the 64th Navamsa sign. Gulika’s position and Navamsa further amplify the fatality. Thus, the astrological framework provides a robust explanation for the loss of executive authority through violent means.

Case 11: President James A. Garfield, Death in Office: September 19, 1881

Zodiac Sign of USA:
Aquarius (10s 30°00′)
Annual Chart Date: March 12, 1881, 9:52:07 at Washington, D.C.

·        8th House: Sagittarius (8s 09°05′) → 64th Navamsa Sign is Gemini

·        10th House: Capricorn (9s 23°45′) → Navamsa Sign is Leo

Astrological Observations:

1.    Weak Ascendant & Moon Positions:

o   Annual Ascendant: Taurus (4th from Aquarius).

o   Ascendant Navamsa: Gemini (5th from Aquarius) — again, a weakening link.

o   Moon in Navamsa: Capricorn, the 12th from natal sign.

o   Gemini, the 64th Navamsa sign, is also the Ascendant Navamsa → double affliction.

2.    Affliction to the 10th House:

o   10th house Navamsa Leo is trine to 8th house — fatal influence.

o   malefic Mars occupies 10th house in Chalit, lord of 7th and 12th — a dangerous placement.

3.    Affliction to Annual 10th Lord (Saturn):

o   In the 12th house, in the Rasi and Navamsa, and debilitated in Rasi.

o   In Trimsamsa, in 7th house (Leo) — part of 8th trinity.

o   In Dashamsa, in the 11th house — semi-malefic, not supportive for rulership.

4.    Affliction to Natal 10th Lord (Mars):

o   In the 10th house in Rasi, but at the house junction and debilitated in Navamsa.

o   In Navamsa, in the 2nd house, under the aspect of Saturn and sign depositor Moon — mild affliction.

o   In Trimsamsa, in 5th house, in Gemini, the 64th Navamsa sign.

o   In Dashamsa, in the 10th house, the occupied sign Aries belongs to the 12th house and Conjoined Jupiter, which is the 8th lord, thus not protective.

5.    Dashamsa Chart Observations:

o   Ascendant Cancer, the 3rd from Rasi, Ascendant Taurus — a weak offset.

o   Its lord Moon is in 11th house, a semi-malefic position.

6.    Malefic Gulika Placement:

o   Gulika in Aquarius — equal to natal sign → inauspicious. Navamsa of Gulika in Gemini is 5th from the natal sign, Aquarius.

Conclusion-

The astrological evidence in the annual chart of 1881 fully supports the death of President Garfield. The Ascendant is from the 4th house, and its Navamsa and Moon placement from the natal sign are weak or inauspicious. More critically, the annual Ascendant Navamsa is the 64th Navamsa sign, a sure indicator of fatal developments. The 10th house Navamsa sign Leo links directly to the 8th house. The annual 10th lord, Saturn, is debilitated and consistently afflicted across Rasi, Navamsa, and Trimsamsa. In contrast, the natal 10th lord Mars is debilitated in Navamsa and tied to the 64th Navamsa sign in Trimsamsa. The Dashamsha offers little reprieve, with the 10th lord joined by the 8th lord. Gulika’s alignment with the natal sign and its Navamsa with the 64th Navamsa sign caps the combination of destructive forces. Hence, the assassination is astrologically well-indicated within the given framework.

 Final Summary

This article has systematically demonstrated how the annual chart of a nation, constructed from its zodiacal sign and capital coordinates, can reliably indicate threats to the life and position of its ruling authority, by applying a set of structured astrological rules—centered on the affliction to the Ascendant, the 10th house, its lord, and critical charts like Navamsa (D-9), Dashamsa (D-10), and Trimsamsa (D-30)—a predictive framework has been established. Particular emphasis has been given to the destructive influence of the 64th Navamsa sign, as well as the positioning of Gulika, in both Rasi and divisional charts.

Case studies of prominent leaders—such as Pandit Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, and several U.S. Presidents who died in office—validate the robustness of this methodology. In nearly every instance, the following key patterns emerged:

  • The annual Ascendant and Moon were found in fatal or Maraka positions from the natal sign.
  • The 10th house was directly weakened through trinal relationships with the 8th house or 64th Navamsa sign.
  • The 10th lords (both annual and natal) suffered severe afflictions across multiple charts.
  • Dashamsa consistently mirrored the downfall of executive power.
  • Gulika's placement served as a final destructive marker when aligned with the natal or annual zodiac.

Through this detailed examination, the article substantiates that the timing of fatal threats to national leaders can indeed be astrologically foreseen when the proper techniques are applied rigorously. This predictive approach is not only grounded in classical wisdom but is reinforced through modern chart examples, offering scholars and practitioners a dependable tool for national-level analysis.
