The formula for calculating the Zodiacal sign of a place is a wonderful invention in the field of predictive astrology. It has many uses and one of them is to know probable trends of elections.

The annual chart of a country or state provides a significant hint about upcoming elections in a particular year. The chart of the moment of the Sun transition over the zodiac sign of the capital is the annual chart of the state or country. The transit of planets and ascendants on the day of the election at the starting time of the voting process also tells much about the trends of the election. But in this paper, I will discuss the annual chart only regarding trends of the upcoming election in the Jharkhand state.

First of all, calculate the zodiac sign of the state according to the formula. The coordinates of Ranchi the capital of the Jharkhand state are 23.35 N (21°21′ N) and 85.33 E (85°19´48´´E).

The formula: 9(Latitude –Longitude)

= 9 (23.35 – 85.33)

= 9 (-61.98)

= (-557.82); Now make this figure within the range of zodiac and with plus sign.

= (-557.82) + (360×2)

= (-557.82) +720

= 162.18; now convert this figure into signs and degrees.

= 5s 12° 11´; now extend this figure up to the last limit of the star but within the same sign.

  = 5s 23⁰ 20^th degree; this is the zodiac sign of the Jharkhand, the Virgo sign of 23⁰ 20^th degrees.

Now cast the annual chart for the relevant year. The tenure of the assembly is up to about December 27, 2019, and the expected dates of the election would be of November, and December 2019. The Sun transits over the natal sign of this state on about October 11 every year. Let us see the chart prepared for the moment of the Sun's transit over the natal sign of the state.

Now consider the 10^th house for the ruling party and the 4^th house for the opposite party. Basically, no house represents the opposite party in a chart but the 10^th house rules for the ruler and so for the ruling party. The 7^th house is an opposite house to any particular house and can represent opposing traits of that house with some of its own features. Hence this is only a working assumption that the 4^th house rules the opposite party. Hence primarily decide the supportive/positive strength of the 10^th house. Supportive or positive means the strength of the 10^th house and its lord with the connection of supportive houses for the 10^th house. The position of Mars at its own sign Scorpio in the 5^th house for Cancer ascendant is much more harmful to the 10^th house though it is strong but not positive or supportive to the 10^th house.

The negative houses for the 10^th house are the 5^th, 8^th, and 12^th from the ascendant. The 3^rd, 7^th and 11^th houses from ascendant are also not much promising for the 10^th house. Hence the position of the 10^th lord in these houses and these house lords in the 10^th house indicates ill effect to the traits of the 10^th house. The 5^th and 8^th houses are most malefic in this context and any relation with the 10^th house/lords is a sure sign of losing the ruling party.  The strong mutual connection between the 7^th house and the 10^th house is also a major diminishing factor for the ruling party. The position of the annual 10^th lord in the 7^th is not good even in the navamsa chart unless it has a sign exchange with other houses other than the 10^th house. The best houses to take a position for the 10^th lord, in support of the ruling party are the 1^st, 9^th, and 10^th house in the Rasi, Navamsa, and Trisamsa (Vedic) chart. The second house's position of it is only a satisfactory factor in support of the ruling party.

Now let us examine the chart:

A-    The annual 10^th lord Moon is in the 5^th house within the aspect of sign depositor Saturn hence strong enough but the 5^th house is an unsupportive house to the 10^th house. So it is a drawback to the ruling party BJP. The 4^th lord Saturn is in the 3^rd house with Ketu. Its association with Ketu is not good enough but its 3^rd house position is good enough as a seat for malefic planets.

In the Navamsa chart, the 10^th lord Moon is in the 3^rd house with the sign depositor Mars, hence strong enough. The 3^rd house is not enough supportive of the 10^th house but not bad as the 5^th, 8^th, and 12^th houses. Having enough strength we can consider it a satisfactory position only. The 4^th lord Saturn is exalted in the 9^th house. Hence it is good for the opposite party.

Further in the Vedic Trisamsa chart, the 10^th lord Moon is in the 8^th house within the aspect of sign depositor Saturn, hence strong enough but the 8^th house is an evil house. So it is a drawback to the ruling party. The 4^th lord Saturn is in the 6^th house with its exaltation lord Venus. But having strength in the 6^th house indicates only obstacles in pursuits.

We have to consider the position and positive strength of the 10^th lord basically. Here it is not good enough to support the ruling party.

B-    There are some helping clues that help us in deciding the matter. Though these points always indicate the gain or loss of some seats according to their supportive or unsupportive positions.

1-    The falling of the natal sign at the unsupportive houses in the annual chart is a negative factor in the Rasi and Navamsa chart.

In this case, the natal sign of the state is Virgo. The 12^th house's position of it in the Rasi chart is not good enough and the 8^th position in Navamsa is absolutely against the ruling party. This means that the ruling party may have to face an unwanted situation and the loss of some seats feared.

2-    The Fortuna* supports the ruling party if falls in the 2-6-10^th house and support for the opposite party is indicated if falls in the 4-8-12^th house from the annual ascendant. The 4^th and 10^th position is not decisive both the houses always remain in mutual aspect. Similarly, its position in the 1-5-9^th houses supports the ruling party while the position in the 3-7-11^th houses supports to the opposite party. Here too the 1^st and 7^th house position is not decisive though it offers slightly more favorable results for the house where it is posited. The 2^nd house always remains in the aspect of the 8^th house hence consider it moderately.  (* the formula for Fortuna is: = Moon – Sun + ascendant; without any exceptions for day or night.)

In this case, the value of Fortuna is 11s 14⁰ 35′

The Pars Fortuna at sign Pisces falls in the 6^th house in Rasi chart and in the 2^nd house in the Navamsa chart indicating a moderately good result for the ruling party.

3-    The position of the Gulika at the 4-8-12^th signs from the natal zodiacal sign of the state especially in the Navamsa proves harmful to the ruling party. The trine position of it is also not good for the ruling party. In this case, the Gulika is at sign Libra in the Rasi chart 2^nd from the state sign and at sign Capricorn in the Navamsa chart trine from the state sign. The trine position of it from the zodiac sign of the state is not good enough.

Conclusion:  After examining various points of the annual chart for the state, the ruling party is not in a sufficiently good position though full of strength. But the opposite party is slightly in a good position. So, I expect a heavy loss of seats to the ruling party BJP. It will be difficult to gain the reign of the state once again.
