Ludian earthquake

The 2014 Ludian earthquake struck Ludian County, Yunnan, China, with a moment magnitude of 6.1 on 3 August. The earthquake killed at least 589 people, injuring at least 2400 others. As of 5 August 2014, 12 people remain missing. Over 12,000 houses collapsed and 30,000 were damaged. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred 29 km (18 mi) WSW of Zhaotong city at 16:30:13 local time (08:30 UTC).

The coordinates of the epicenter are   27.245°N, 103.427°E.

The SHREE formula of calculating zodiacal sign of a place is much useful in locating sensitive areas for calamities at a given time. Some of the predictive rules have got placed in the September 2012 issue of Modern Astrology. Some more is here.

1-    Place may suffer a tough time when Uranus and Saturn both transit from 1^st, 7^th, 4^th,8^th, or 12^th from the zodiacal sign of country. The 2^nd house is 7^th from the 8^th house and can act just like 8^th house. Actually, the basic principle is that ill transit from 1^st and 8^th houses creates hardship. So 4^th and 12^th houses are trine from 8^th house and 2^nd house is 7^th from 8^th house. In a similar way, a zodiac sign aspect 7^th house and 5^th and 9^th houses are trine. So we should consider the 1^st,2^nd, 5^th, 7^th, 8^th 9^th, and 12^th house. Both planets Uranus and Saturn must be in these houses together or separately. Even the Navamsa sign of Saturn and Uranus equal to these houses in other signs can create a hard time to place. The presence of other malefic planets in these houses can worsen the situation.

2-    97^th Pada- Saturn transit from the 1^st,2^nd, 5^th, 7^th, 8^th 9^th, and 12^th houses from 97^th quarter(Pada-Navamsa) from zodiacal sign. We can get the 97^th quarter by taking Navamsa of the figure that we get after adding 10-23/20 (323°20´) to the zodiacal sign.

3-    30^th Drekkana- Jupiter's transit from the houses mentioned above from 30^th Drekkana sign can cause an ill event at the place. We can get 30^th Drekkana sign by taking Drekkana sign of the figure that we get after adding 9-20 (290°) to the longitude of zodiac sign. (Vedic Drekkana scheme of continuously reckoning without jumping to 5^th sign must be in use)

Now let us see this event within the context of zodiacal sign of a place.

The zodiacal sign of the epicenter is Taurus of 1-06/40^th. So Navamsa is Aquarius, Drekkana is Cancer and 64^th Navamsa sign is Taurus.

The 64^th Navamsa sign of epicenter is the same equal to place sign that is always bad for this area.

1-    Navamsa of transit Saturn is at sign Aries that is 12^th from place sign and Navamsa of Uranus is Capricorn that is trine from place sign within affliction.

2-    97^th quarter of place- 1-6/40+10-23/20 = 11-30^th/00 Navamsa- Pisces; The Saturn is 8^th at sign Libra from this point.

3-    30^th Drekkana sign of place- 1-6/40+9-20/00 = 10-26/40^th, Drekkana- Sagittarius: The Jupiter is 8^th from this point.

4-    The place sign Taurus is receiving three malefic aspects of Rahu, Mars (afflicted and ill-placed), and Gulika. Sign lord Venus is in the 8^th from ascendant of event and 2^nd from place sign at sign Gemini. The 2^nd house is 7^th from the 8^th house hence not benefic always. It’s Navamsa at its own sign Taurus is not so healthy here as sign Taurus is the 64^th Navamsa sign of place.

a-     Rule-1, a&b- The ascendant of event Scorpio is 7^th from place sign afflicted by Ketu and Gulika. Sign Scorpio is also a sign of the most malefic Mars for Taurus sign.

The Navamsa sign of Moon Sagittarius is equal to 8^th house of place and the Karakamsa sign is Taurus equal to the place sign and afflicted.

b-    Rule 2, B- c- The 3^rd and 6^th houses are simultaneously occupied by malefic. Here 6^th Saturn and Mars and 11^th Ketu are noteworthy.

c-     Rule 3 – The Rahu is trine from place sign Taurus.

d-    Rule 5- The Sun is at Drekkana sign of place at sign Cancer.

e-     Rule 6-2- The Jupiter is 8^th lord of the place and in the 3^rd house from place sign with Sun at sign Cancer.

(How to calculate zodiacal sign of place-

Take the longitude and latitude of the place in question. Convert them into degrees. Out of them, use the North and East c0-ordinate with plus (+) mark and the South and West coordinate with the minus (-) mark.

Zodiac sign= 9(Latitude – Longitude)

Then make the resultant figure within 360 degrees, after deducting or adding, as many times the value of 360 as possible. It must be within 360 degrees and with plus mark and then convert into a Zodiac sign, providing 30 degrees for each sign. The value we get should be increased by the nearest Navamsa-pada. This is the Zodiacal sign of place. But for the use of political purposes we should extend it up to the last limit of the star but within the same sign and coordinates of capital should be taken into account.)

- 2014 Kunshan explosion- a dust explosion occurred at Zhongrong Metal Production Company, located in Kunshan, Jiangsu, China on 2 August 2014. The explosion killed 65 workers and injured over one hundred people.

Location-  Kunshan 31/19/19 N & 120/59/06 E. Hence zodiacal sign of place is Capricorn 9-3/02.

Time- August 2, 2014, at 7h37m

Casualties- Death 65, injuries 150

The ascendant (4-15/04) and Navamsa was Leo, 8^th from place sign! The Moon sign was Virgo (5-21/49) trine from place sign. The Karakamsa is Taurus (AK- Venus 2-23/21) also trine from place sign. Sign Capricorn is receiving the malefic aspect of Mars and Rahu and also within the aspect of natal 8^th lord Sun.

-         2014 Kaohsiung gas explosion- On 31 July 2014, a series of gas explosions occurred in the Cianjhen and Lingya districts of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, following reports of gas leaks earlier that night. 30 people were killed and 309 others were injured.

Kaohsiung co ordinates- 22°36′39″N 120°19′8″E So zodiacal sign of place is Libra 6-21/18.

Gas leak- 20h.46m. (UTC +8)

Ascendant- Aquarius 10-23/47, a trine from place sign and its Navamsa Taurus is 8^th from place sign.
