Most astrologers examine the annual solar return chart for the purpose of knowing the future result in a particular year of the native.

I also follow this method. The annual horoscope is a transit position of planets and ascendants at a significant moment of native as the sun transits over the natal sun. But we know in Indian astrology more importance has been given to the moon than the sun, so why should we not examine the horoscope of the moment when the sun transit over the natal moon! The significant factor for the year is the Sun and the basis of transit is the Moon.

The zodiac sign of Capital works for such purposes. For the use of political purposes calculate the zodiac sign for capital using a formula and extend it up to the last limit of the star but within the same zodiac sign.

To know the possible trend of any country or state in a particular year examines Sun's ingress over this point.

India`s zodiac sign is Capricorn of 23 degrees and 20 minutes according to the formula. The Sun transits this point about 6^th February of every year. Let us see the possible trends of India in 2014 using this new noble method.

This is not a very good year for India. The Sun-Rahu Tithi from the Purna group is bad for India. The transit of Saturn and Jupiter from odd signs is also bad for Indian affairs. The 10^th cum 11^th lord Saturn though exalted but posited in bad houses within affliction in both Varga is not a good augury for Indian ruler and financial gain. 

This is the year of general elections in the country. Which party shall rule the country! Weather congress or BJP or 3^rd front comes into the picture!  This is a big question in the mind of citizens. The annual chart can hint us on this matter, though the final outcome depends upon the dates of the election. The 10^th house represents the ruling party while the 4^th house stands for the opposition. The 10^th lord Saturn though strong enough but affliction to it can harm the position of congress. But the 4^th lord Moon also within affliction in the 12^th cum 1^st house (in Chalit chart) is also not a happy augury for the opposition but in the Navamsa chart, it has a benefic aspect of Jupiter. The lord of the natal 10^th sign Libra is Venus in the 8^th house but moves into the 9^th house in the Chalit chart and in his own Navamsa. The lord of the natal 4^th house Mars is in the 6^th house within affliction but Vargottami and with his sign depositor in the Navamsa is a good factor in the favor of the opposition. So the ruling party congress is about to go down though not weak as it performed in New Delhi in 2013.

Locating Direction- The direction of the sign which is occupied by the 8^th lord in both Vargas (Rasi and Navamsa) of the year or opposite directions to it are sensitive directions to catch calamities.

b-    The places of sign which is occupied by the 8^th lord in both Vargas, of the year also consider trine and 7^th sign from it.

Direction- The 8^th lord of the year Mars seated over the Libra sign in both Vargas. Sign Libra represents the west direction so this and the opposite direction of it the west are sensitive.

b-    The 8^th lord Mars posited over the Libra sign in both Vargas. So the places ruled by Airy sign and by sign Aries are sensitive.

Conclusively, in the axis of east-west direction, the places of airy, watery, Taurus, and Aries are some parts of Maharashtra such as Mumbai in the west ruled by the sign Scorpio, and some parts of Bihar in the east ruled by sign Libra such as Patna are sensitive.
