Zodiac Sign of a Place
It is a big problem in mundane astrology to ascertain the place for any incoming event. There is no definite rule in this regard. Though there is some rule these are having many pitfalls. Some of them are only limited within the boundary of India. The Varah Mihir an ancient Indian astrologer has made an endeavor to ascertain place by Kurma-Chakra in Vedic astrology but it is also incomplete and unclear. In this method, the eight directions and a center are attributed to certain stars. Here is a problem fix the center point! Only after deciding it, other directions may come into the picture. If anyhow we decide on the center then there are thousands of kilometer of land and so many countries comes under one direction. Beyond this, any event does not depend on a particular direction at a certain time. There was a dreadful flood in the Bihar state of India at a certain time period and same time in a different direction there was the terror of cyclones in the Haiti and Cuba region.
The capital of any state should not be the base of prediction for natural events though we can use it for political purposes.
Any event that takes place at any particular place has a relation with only that place just like a native. That place has a certain zodiac sign and a star. The zodiac sign and star is fixed in favor of certain area of land and these have been determined at the time of the creation of the earth.
As a person of a certain zodiac sign and star may be born in the USA and at the same time a person of the same sign and star may exist in India. Just like it, a part of the land of a certain sign may be in Japan, and at the same time, it may exist in the USA.
I have made a try to ascertain the zodiac sign of place through the scientific method and found a mathematical formula very-very useful in the allocation of land. It may be also useful for geo-scientist in the allocation of the earth.
I have seen the affecting area of some events through the internet and found that the intensity of events changes according to zodiac signs, stars, and Navamsa.
The transit rule of the Hora part, those are applicable to the zodiac sign and stars are all useful to ascertain future event at a particular place. I have used some of them and these are sub-rule of one most popular rules. I am writing them after an example, after it, I will write the formula, and thereafter various examples in support of the theory.
The date 26th January of 2001 was a very bad date for the citizens of Bhuj in Gujrat state of India as a terrible earthquake struck at 8/46 am and there was a major loss of lives and goods. The coordinates of the place are 23N18 and 69E42 and the horoscope of the moment is as under as per Lahiri ayanamsa.

We know the well-known transit rule that the 4th, 8th, and 12th transit of Saturn and Moon proves bad for that particular sign.
Now I say the zodiac sign of Bhuj is Aquarius and its longitude is 10-3/20th. See the planetary position at the time of the earthquake. The 4th transit of Saturn, the 12th transit of the moon, and the ascendant same as equal to the place sign.
Here you can ask over how I decided the sign Aquarius for Bhuj! In this regard, I have to say that it is a mathematical formula applicable to all places on earth. The sign that we get by using this formula for any particular place is capable to explain any event at that place moreover it can explain the nature and attitude of the place or inhabitants of the place. I shall present it before you but let us know the transit rule applicable for any bad event which may strike at a particular place.
Transit Rule-
The 4th, 8th, 12th and 64th navamsa sign from place sign is always bad; malefic transit over these signs creates problems to place. Besides these signs, the sign of Badhak place from the sign of place also has some malefic nature. The 1st, 5th, 7th, and 9th signs from the place are sensitive and if afflicted by malefic, prove harmful though these signs have some beneficence too which may come into the experience by benefic transit over them.
We shall use the transit of the ascendant, moon, Karakamsa, sun, Ketu, and Saturn to explain any bad event at a particular place.
1-The Ascendant, moon, and karakamsa –
A-The 4th,8th,12th, and 64th D-9 position of these either in the Rasi or in the navamsa always prove harmful to place and position of them over 1st,5th,7th and 9th sign from place sign may prove harmful if afflicted by malefic.
B-The sign of most functional malefic planets for the particular sign also have some malefic nature toward a place, and generally, it is from the 7th house triploid as the Gemini sign for the Aries sign, the Sagittarius for Libra and the Libra for the Sagittarius, etc. So the position of these over them may prove harmful if afflicted by malefic. Just like these the Badhak sign of place works.
C- Mostly all the events fulfill the above two conditions but rarely some exceptions may be in that condition, it is necessary for the position of these over malefic Tara from place star, namely 1st-3rd-5th and the 7th and even the 9th Tara.
2-The Saturn-
A-All conditions same as above mainly A for Ascendant and Moon.
B-Some special conditions can create heavy Marak-Yoga though some of them may be good in other spheres.
a-The Saturn posited in the 3rd or in the 6th sign and at the same time, the Rahu posited in the 4th,8th, or in 12th sign from the place sign.
b-If the 3rd and 6th sign simultaneously posited by malefic
c- If the 6th and 11th sign from place simultaneously posited by malefic.
d- If the 3rd and the 8th house are simultaneously posited by malefic, a very powerful killer combination.
e- All the trine places or all the square places or 4th-8th and the 12th place from the sign of place only transited by malefic.
3- The Rahu- Rahu also acts like Saturn but it is not a strong factor as Saturn.
4-The Ketu-
A-Take the 8th house from the sign of place using the equal house division method and calculate the Navamsa sign for it. It is the 64th Navamsa sign of place. The 1st-5th-7th -9th and 4th-8th -12th transit of the Ketu from this 64th D-9 sign can create misfortune for the place.
B- Take the 8th house from the sign of place using the equal house division method and calculate the Dvadashamsa (D-12) sign for the place in question. It is the 85th D-12 sign of place. The 1st-5th-7th -9th and 4th-8th -12th transit of the Ketu from this D-12 sign can create hardship for the place.
5-The Sun-
Calculate the Dreskanna (D-3) sign for the place in question using continuous reckoning from the sign Aries as Aries-Taurus-Gemini etc, providing 10 degrees per sign.
The 1st-5th-7th -9th and 4th-8th -12th transit of the Sun from this D-3 sign can create hardship for the place.
6-Some more important situations are-
a- That the 8th lord from the sign of place or 64th navamsa lord of place posited at the sign of place or aspect it in the Rasi or in the navamsa.
b- The position of 8th lord from sign of place is in the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th or in the Badhak house and same time afflicted.
c- Affliction to the 8th house in transit from the sign of place also tells something bad for the place.
d- If Jupiter owns the 6th, 8th,12th, or Badhak house from the place sign then its aspect and position on the place sign prove no longer benefic instead of this it may be harmful if afflicted.
7- The sign of place, its navamsa sign, and 64th D-9 sign for a place get affliction from the malefic planet at the time of any bad event.
The above-cited conditions are present at the time of the incident according to the intensity of the event. Some other rules may be discovered regarding this; here my main purpose is to prove the importance of zodiac signs over the place that comes from using the ‘formula’.
8-We can guess the future event using the annual chart and monthly chart for the place in question. The concept for calculating the annual chart is the moment of Sun transit over the zodiac sign of place and the monthly chart is the time of the Moon's transit over the zodiac sign of place.
The general indications for any upcoming bad event at any place in the annual and monthly chart are as under-
A-The ascendant and moon or their navamsa position often take the 4th-8th-12th place from place sign and 1st -5th-7th-9th and Badhak sign within affliction.
B- The main indication is that the 4th house of the chart gets affliction in the following way-
a- The malefic planet posited in or aspect the 4th house.
b- The 4th lord posited in the 3rd-6th-8th -12th or in the Badhak house or the Navamsa position of the 4th lord is equal to these houses.
C-The sign of place, Navamsa sign and 64th D-9 sign of place, their lord and star lord get affliction in the chart.
In this regard please examine only the Chalit chart and take the value of the 4th cusp according to the method of Sripati.
The formula-
Take the latitude and longitude of the place in question. Convert them into degrees. Out of the North and East, coordinates use with plus (+) mark, and for the South and West coordinates use with minus (-) mark after using the following formula to get the sign of place.
Zodiac sign = 9 (latitude – longitude).
Then make the resultant figure within 360 degrees after deducting or adding as many times the value of 360 as possible. It must be within 360 degrees and with a plus mark and then convert into a zodiac sign providing 30 degrees for each sign. The value we get should be increased by the nearest Navamsa-Pada. This is the zodiac sign of the place in question. Let us see some examples.
1-Bhuja – Gujarat in India.
Latitude =23°18´ N or 23.30° and Longitude =69°42´E or 69.70°
Zodiac sign of place = 9(latitude – longitude)
= 9 (23.30 – 69.70)
= 9 (-46.40)
= -417.60
Making this figure within 360 and with a (+) mark
= -417.60+ (360×2)
= -417.60+720
= 302.40
Now convert this figure into signs and degrees.
So we get 10-02/24.
Now increase this figure to the nearest Navamsa-Pada.
So we get 10-3/20th. This is the value of the zodiac sign of place. The Aquarius sign, Libra navamsa, and the 3rd Pada of Dhanistha star.
2-The zodiac sign of New York USA-
Latitude-40N43 or 40.716N; Longitude-74W01 or 74.016W
The zodiac sign of place = 9(40.716-(-) 74.016)
= 9(40.716+74.016)
= 9(114.732)
= 1032.588-(360×2)
= 312.588
= 10-12/36 Say 10-13/20th.

In this way, we can divide the whole earth astrologically or geographically within the limit of the zodiac sign, star, or quarter of the star according to use and need.
At the time of need for a bigger area of land, we can ignore the multiple of nine from the formula.
Use of it-
a- To know provable natural disasters at any particular place.
b- The zodiac sign of capital can be used for political purposes of the country. It is able to explain all the affairs of the country such as the condition of the ruling government, change of it, relations with other countries, and the result of the played match by the country team, etc.

1- Once again the example of the Bhuja (India) earthquake.
The value of the place sign is 10-3/20th. As we have already calculated it above.

Karakamsa-the karakamsa sign is the Virgo which is the 8th from the sign of place.
The Saturn-it was transiting over the 4th sign from the sign of place and its navamsa is 12th from the place sign.
The Rahu- it is 5th from the place sign at Gemini.
The Ketu- the 8th house from the place is 5-3/20. Its navamsa sign is Capricorn. The Ketu was transiting 12th from this sign.
The Sun- the Drekkanna sign of place is at Libra sign and the sun was transiting 4th from it at Capricorn. The sign Capricorn is also 64th D-9 sign of place.
-The 8th lord from the sign of place is mercury and it is posited at the place sign afflicting it.
--The sign of place Aquarius is aspected by Saturn and Rahu. The navamsa sign of place Libra is the seat of Mars and aspected by Rahu. The 64th D-9 sign of place Capricorn is seated by the Sun and aspected by Mars.

There was a terrible earthquake stroked under sea at 35 km in the west near Chimbote place of Peru in the South America. There were 50000- death and several peoples were missing and a lot of other kind of loss happened on account of it. It is famous with the name of Ancash earthquake.

6-The Sun is at Taurus that is the 12th sign from D-3 sign of place.

5- The Rahu was transiting the 9th from place sign over Gemini sign and its navamsa at Aquarius sign the 5th place from place sign.
6-The Ketu was transiting over Sagittarius the 7th sign from the 64th D-9 sign of place within the aspect of Saturn and Mars.
The 8th house of the place is 1-20/00 according to equal house division and its D-12 sign is Sagittarius. The transiting Ketu was over it.
7-The Sun was at 9th sign at Cancer from the D-3 sign of place.
8-The sign of place Libra was within the aspect of afflicted Rahu. The Navamsa sign of place Pisces was in the aspect of afflicted Saturn though aspect of Jupiter also present but it was in debility in the Navamsa so not remained much effective. The 64th D-9 sign of place Gemini was the seat of malefic namely Saturn, Rahu and banning Moon.

There were several deaths due to leakage of poisons gas in the Union Carbide factory situated in the Bhopal (India).
