!!Badhak Planet!!
The ‘Badhak’ means obstruction. Every horoscope according to the nature of the ascendant has a certain house of ‘Badhak’ nature. The posited planet in the house and the lord of the house attains obstructing nature. The significance of the house reduced to some extent (depending upon several other factors) who`s lord gets a position in the Badhak house. Similarly, the Badhak lord reduced the benefice result of the house where it get placed. However, they are most welcome to get a seat in the evil houses namely the 6th, 8th, and in 12th houses from the ascendant.
If the Badhak lord posited in the evil houses namely 6th, 8th, and 12th from ascendant they provide name, fame, money, and perhaps longer life. But it can harm the outer significance related to both houses such as lives, physical well-being, and misery to the living entity signified by both houses. As if the position of the 11th lord Sun in the 6th house at sign Pisces for Libra ascendant can harm the physical well-being of the just elder brother/sister (11th house significance) and also can cause harm to maternal uncle, enemies (the 6th house significance), etc. Ultimately the net result depends upon the position and aspects of the other planets.
Here is a list of Badhak houses according to the nature of the ascendant. This view is the most effective and popular. (Actually, there are two views in this regard. one more view is perhaps given in the ‘Prashan Marg’. but that is not in vogue.)
- for movable signs namely Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn the Badhak house is the 11th house.
- for fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius the 9th house is termed as a Badhak house.
- for dual signs namely Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces the 7th house is termed as Badhak house.
