!!Curly Hair: An astrological approach!!

Predictive astrology based on symbolism. The symbol and myths related to signs and planets have a significant influence on nativity.

Hair is an important part of the human body that can increase or decrease the beauty of a personality. Curliness of hair fits much for a certain type of face while sometimes it can decrease good appearance.

Curly hair- What are the combinations for curly hair! I have not come to pass the exact combination. But there are some similar descriptions that can be imposed on the nativity.

One of them is asked for Leo navamsa in the ascendant.

The appearance of Sun according to Saravali is a little curliness of hair.

  Now let us search for some astrological factors responsible for the curliness of hair.

a-    
The sign Aries is symbolized by the horn of the animal Ram or Aries which has a curved horn.

Every sign puts its influence over other signs. The trine signs are always of almost the same quality though they have their own nature too. The 7^th sign also has much importance in Jaimini astrology as it always has an aspect to the 1^st sign, so we should not ignore the trine signs from the 7^th sign. The 4^th sign receives 75% aspect of the 1^st sign therefore it must be considered. So priority in decreasing order of the total seven signs are the 1^st, 5^th, 9^th, 7^th then 3^rd, and 11^th then the 4^th sign should be considered for better results. Hence the sign Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Libra, Gemini, Aquarius and Cancer can provide curly hair with other helping factors.

The ascendant rules over the body especially the head and the navamsa of it also rules for the same. Our seers provided suggestions to judge the strength of their lord. Moon denotes the mind and is only a secondary influencer over the body so it is the only helping factor for deciding physical features. The sign occupied by the ascendant lord also works as an ascendant and is used by many old masters of astrology.

So we have to consider the ascendant, its navamsa sign, and the sign occupied by the ascendant lord. We should not ignore trine signs as told by some ‘trikonagalam sarvatra yojyam’ (त्रिकोणगलं सर्वत्रयोज्यम). 

So the ascendant and its navamsa or ascendant lord in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius and Libra give a strong tendency of having curly hair, and the remaining three signs only have second place.

b-      Venus rules hair as an object of beauty in the human body.

So the position of Venus in the ascendant or with the ascendant lord can create such a possibility.

 c- The star Aridra also rules hair according to Brihit Samhita of Varah and the star falling in the 7^th sign from Aridra, the Purvashad star also can signify hair. These signs fall in the Gemini and Sagittarius sign respectively. According to ‘Krishneeyam’, an old treatise on horary astrology is also attributed to the sign Gemini for hair.

So when the sign Gemini and Sagittarius are occupied by the planet Venus and have affliction, the possibility of curly hair arises strongly. The positions of the Moon over Aridra and Purvashad stars also strengthen the possibility of curly hair.

d-      Generally, affliction to Venus by malefic creates some defects or peculiarity in hair that may be curly.

The combination, (c) and (d) remain for a long duration in heaven so cannot be decisive. As the curliness of hair goes more with advanced age, it must have more support from the planets.

When curliness of hair has a racial phenomenon then the light combination is able to provide curly hair.

Now see the details of some famous personalities in this regard. I am providing only relevant data.

Aquarius ascendant aspected by Venus and Saturn the ascendant lord is in the sign Aries.

b- Kishore Kumar (Singer)- 4/8/1929, 16/00 hour at Khandwa (M.P.)

Saggitarius ascendant occupied by Saturn and 7^th Venus is at sign Gemini.

c-     Girish Karnad (Film)- 19/05/1938, 21/45 at Matheran (Maharastra)

Sagittarius ascendant having the 7^th aspect of Venus and Jupiter the ascendant lord in Sagittarius navamsa is extra support.

d-    Pt. Ravi Shankar (Sitar) – 7/4/1920 about 6/00 hours at Banaras

Pisces ascendant is in the last face with Venus and Sun. But his oval or triangular face cut suggests Aries, ascendant.

e-     Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma (Santoor)- 13/1/1938, 14/30 at Srinagar

Taurus ascendant, ascendant lord Venus is in the 8^th house at sign Sagittarius in the Purvashad star within the 10^th aspect of Saturn.

f-      Anushka Shankar (d/o Ravi Shankar)- 9/6/1981, 12/00 at London (UK)

Leo is ascendant with the Moon, the Sun the ascendant lord in Leo navamsa, and Venus at star Aridra within the aspect of Saturn.

g-     Kapil Dev- 6/1/1959, but his birth time is also disputed Mr. S.K. Satyanarayana Rao interpreted his chart with Aries ascendant in his book related to Games. While other considers it as a Capricorn ascendant. Both charts are in full support of curly hair.

h-    Sai of Puttaparti- 23/11/1926, 6/30 hours at Puttaparti

Scorpio is ascendant with Venus, Sun, and Saturn, and the ascendant lord Mars in the Aries sign. His Moon star Aridra with Rahu provides extra support for his curly hair.

I have about 25 horoscopes of personally known persons with curly hair and all of them are in full support of the rules given above. Most of them are ruled by fiery ascendants.
