!!Shri!!
Here I am talking about the horoscope of Shri Rajneesh (Osho).
His date of birth, December 11, 1931, is undisputed, but his birth time is not correct; the 17h 13m is in vogue. Mr. K N Rao supports this time. The place of birth
is a small village, namely ‘Kuchwara’, near the Tehsil place Udaipura within the
district of Raisen in Madhya Pradesh.
At the beginning of my learning astrology about twenty years ago, I read his
horoscope in a Hindi magazine. That was with Aquarius ascendant, the time
given as 11h 40 m. The authors also described some details about his father’s
inquiry with an astrologer for the horoscope of Shri Rajneesh. Unfortunately, I missed that issue of the magazine, but I had recorded it as it is true to me.
Now I am going to compare both types of horoscope with his life events and try to prove the correctness of the Aquarius ascendant. Both types of horoscopes are as follows, with Lahiri ayanamsa.
Asc-1-22/06Gulika= 8-12/35 ,Tenth House=10-08/32 ,Eigth House=8-17/34 ,Third House=3-13/03
Asc-10-10/50
The Gulika is as per the method supported by Parashar and the house division as per Shripati or Porphyry’s method.
Now, please observe the following points.
1-The learned reader must have known about the combination related to the child’s birth, that the child having the Ascendant of 1,2,5,7 and 10 signs weeps more at the time of his birth whereas birth in the sign 6 and 11 weeps comparatively less while in the sign of 3,4,8,9 and 12 does not weep at all.
It is said about Rajneesh that he had not wept at all at the time of his birth.
The Aquarius sign is less weeping, though its not-weeping incident is also supported by the Moon sign Sagittarius, which is a not-weeping sign. Whereas the sign Taurus is a more weeping sign. If we adjust it with the Moon sign Sagittarius, even then, he ought to have wept some.
2-Siblings-Being the eldest among his eleven siblings can be proved only by an Aquarius ascendant.
From the Taurus ascendant, the 11th Rahu supports him for being the eldest. But this Rahu is within the aspect of his exalted and benefic sign depositor from the 3rd house. So it creates the possibility that if not from the same sex, he might have at least one elder sister.
Again, from Taurus ascendant, the 3rd lord in the 8th having sign exchange with the 8th lord and the significator of a sibling, the Mars being in the 8th does not support at all for his ten younger.
Whereas from the Aquarius ascendant, the 3rd lord and significator Mars is in the 11th with the ascendant lord and benefic planets fully supporting his ten younger.
The 11th lord in the 6th in exchange with the 6th lord and aspected by Rahu & Mars is a supportive combination for being the eldest among his eleven younger.
3-Age- From Taurus ascendant, the 3rd lord and the 8th lord have sign exchange, and the 8th lord is aspected by Rahu and by the killer planet Mars. Moreover, the ascendant lord with the moon is in the 8th with Gulika, Mars, and Saturn. This type of planetary position creates a short-life combination. Again with the same ascendant, the ascendant lord is in the dual sign, and the 8th lord in the movable sign also supports for short life span.
The 8th moon signifies some kind of watery accident. Shri Rajneesh was very fond of swimming. He used to bathe in the river of Gadarwara for several hours. He had not faced any kind of watery accident. Again, the same Taurus ascendant Mars, Saturn, and Gulika, with the ascendant lord being in the 8th, create a strong possibility of some other kind of accident too. He used to drive the motor car very fast, but he had not faced any accidents.
Whereas from an Aquarius ascendant, the ascendant lord and the 8th lord are in the 11th with a mixed nature's planet, and his vargottami ascendant lord supports for a medium-long span of life. The 1st & 8th lord both in dual signs and Saturn & Moon also in dual signs support his medium life span.
4-Fame-Influence of six planets on the moon is a Yogakarak phenomenon. From Taurus ascendant, it happens in the 8th with the 1st & 10th lord. The Rajyoga formed with the help of the 8th house does not stay for a long duration; it creates some kind of misfortune after giving Rajyoga.
This is a fact that Shri Rajneesh is alone in this century and enjoyed so much 'YASH and ASHWARYA' in his lifetime. The 8th house can not explain this phenomenon, which is the most focal point of the Taurus ascendant, as most of the planet is situated in this house with the ascendant lord and the Moon.
Now, from the Aquarius ascendant, this combination took place in the 11th house. The 11th house is well known for gain, luxury (Kanchan & Kamini), and fulfillment of desires. This can explain his fame and luxurious life in a better way. The aspect of the ascendant lord to the ascendant being Vargottami is also a Yogakarak situation.
Pondering upon the D-10 chart, from Taurus ascendant, the lord of D-10 is in the 8th in the D-10 chart. This is not a favorable situation for any divisional chart. Whereas from the Aquarius ascendant, the lord of the D-10 chart is in the ascendant of D-10. The D-10 lord is Venus. He got his early fame by using significations denoted by Venus. The Rahu is in the 10th of D-10 chart, the main period of Rahu was very helpful to his work.
5-Orator skill-From Taurus ascendant, the 2nd & 5th lord Mercury is in the 8th as a strong significator of speech and afflicted by malefic planets. Jupiter has a sign exchange with the 8th lord. This type of planetary position does not explain his powerful and excellent oratorical skills.
Whereas from the Aquarius ascendant, the 2nd Rahu within the aspect of his benefice and exalted rasi depositor Jupiter, gave him good command over his speech. It is known to all about Rahu that it acts unexpectedly and intensifies much of the result related to it if favorably posited in a house.
6-Sex principle-From Taurus's ascendant, Venus is debilitated in the Navamsa and in the influence of malefic planets supports his sex principle to some extent, but the 7th Sun within the aspect of Jupiter does not support it.
From an Aquarius ascendant, the debilitated Venus is conjoined with the Moon in the Navamsa, and another malefic influence is already present. It might have been known to the reader that if Venus joins the Moon with malefic influence, a special type of sex-lover combination is formed. Most of the planets posited in the Kama-Trikona (sex or desire trine) in the Rasi chart and the 7th Gulika in the D-9 chart can explain his subconscious mind full of sex instinct in a better way.
He used his sex-ridden subconscious for spiritual purposes on account of the strong aspect of Jupiter over Venus in the D-9 chart.
7-Mystic nature-His mystic nature is frequently explained by planets in the 8th house from Taurus ascendant, whereas from Aquarius ascendant, the 8th Ketu is sufficient for this cause. The Aquarius sign also supports his philosophical mind.
8-A rebellion- His rebellion and aggressive nature can be explained by the Sagittarius moon sign with extreme star Purva-Phalguni. Moreover, the ascendant Aquarius supports this type of nature, whereas the sign Taurus is a bearable sign (earthy element).
9-Fond of water- He was very fond of water. He used to spend almost three hours daily in his bathroom. He was also very fond of swimming. In his early life, he would spend many hours in the river of Gadarwara. The reason for this kind of interest is that his birth star, Purvashad, belongs watery group of stars. The second equally strong factor is his ascendant as Aquarius, a watery sign.
I know a traditional South Indian Sanyasi who lives on the bank of the holy river Narmada near my village. He also has his birth ascendant, Aquarius, with the same moon star, Purvashad.
He is also very fond of water. He takes a bath at least three times per day and spends a lot of time in his bathroom. Nowadays, he is living on the surface of the river Narmada using a boat made in the shape of a hut.
10-The evidence from the “Garga Hora”-“Garga-Hora”- Translated by R. Santhanam.
The conjunction of five planets, the Moon-Mars-Mercury-Venus-Saturn in the 8th house (here from Taurus asc, taking as ascendant), rules no.888.
“Will some time contemplate yet some times be detached(from that path)”—This statement is partly applicable. Here, words are sometimes objectionable, as he devoted his full life to spiritual causes.
“Will sometimes grow twisted (matted) hair yet sometimes remains tonsured”—This does not apply to Rajneesh, as he had a bald head with hair on his head. Actually, this is a description of a traditional Sanyasi (Monk) and does not fit the personality of Rajneesh.
“and will have various (such) guises and will perform very cruel acts.”- -This is objectionable
statement as he never performed cruel acts.
Now observe from the Aquarius ascendant. The said five planets are in the 11th house. Rule No. 1239.
“Will be endowed with Sastraic learning and wealth” -A fully favorable and applicable statement with him, as he was much fond of learning and reading books. He maintained a huge library, which is still intact in his Pune commune.
He was also extremely wealthy. He owned about ninety Rolls-Royce cars, and his cap, watch, and robe remained decorated with jewels.
“Will destroy his enemies”- A suitable statement within his field of work. He was too aggressive with his critics and used to make them answer less by putting strong arguments.
“Be ruler” -He ruled over his commune, which is full of many thousands of disciples from all over the world.
“Be highly skillful in Sastras” -A hundred percent true statement, fit with the personality of Rajneesh. He was full of profound knowledge of the scriptures of all existing religions and philosophies. He had lectured on many religious scriptures related to every religion.
He was also an admirer of astrology and wrote (Lectured) a book on the importance of astrology with the title “Jyotish-Advaitya ka Vigyan”.
10- So, it seems to me that the sign Aquarius as his ascendant is more suitable than Taurus due to the above-cited reasons.
Namaskar! --------------------------------------------------Raghvendra Khare
