Shri Rajneesh(Osho)-Disputed Horoscope.

                                                                           !!Shri!!
Here I am talking about the horoscope of Shri Rajneesh (Osho). His date of birth, December 11, 1931, is undisputed, but his birth time is not correct; the 17h 13m is in vogue. Mr. K N Rao supports this time. The place of birth is a small village, namely ‘Kuchwara’, near the Tehsil place Udaipura within the district of Raisen in Madhya Pradesh.

Careless learners often draw incorrect conclusions from such charts, thereby distorting their understanding and practice of predictive astrology.

As the first case in this endeavour, I examine the horoscope of Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India.

On Misleading Horoscopes and the Case of Shri Rajiv Gandhi: A Call for Accuracy in Astrological Research

In this article, I present a critical analysis of certain horoscopes that, despite being popular or widely circulated, are inaccurate or misleading. The propagation of such erroneous charts under the guise of research is not only harmful to the reputation of astrology but also misguides sincere students of the subject. Careless learners often draw incorrect conclusions from such charts, thereby distorting their understanding and practice of predictive astrology.

As the first case in this endeavour, I examine the horoscope of Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India.

  • Conflicting Ascendant Claims in Published Sources

Years ago, a version of Rajiv Gandhi's horoscope was published in The Astrological Magazine with Virgo ascendant. However, a later publication in the same magazine featured a Leo ascendant version. This inconsistency was highlighted by Shri K.N. Rao in the preface to his book Learn Successful Predictive Techniques of Hindu Astrology, wherein he criticized the earlier publication of the Virgo ascendant chart, considering it a serious editorial lapse.

Shri Rao accepts the following birth details for Rajiv Gandhi:

    • Date: 20 August 1944
    • Time: 08:11:40 a.m. War Time
    • Place: Mumbai
    • Ayanamsa: Lahiri

According to him, this gives Leo ascendant with Leo Navamsa.

  • While I accept the date and location, I contest the time of birth. Based on my analysis, I propose:

    • Corrected Time: 09:22:30 a.m. War Time
    • Resulting Ascendant: Virgo with Capricorn Navamsa

    • Below, I compare both charts and demonstrate how the Virgo ascendant more accurately explains key facts of Shri Gandhi’s life, personality, and destiny.

      Comparison of the Two Charts

For both charts, planetary positions are approximately the same, except for the ascendant, Navamsa Lagna, and related house lords.

      1. Facial Features and Physical Traits

      • The calm, attractive, polite, and somewhat shy demeanor of Shri Rajiv Gandhi suits the Virgo ascendant.
      • Mars in Virgo (Lagna) also explains his tendency toward baldness.
      • Leo ascendant, especially with Moon in Purva Phalguni (a fiery, aggressive star), and Leo Navamsa, would indicate a bold, assertive, and aggressive nature, traits he did not prominently display.

      2. Psychological Disposition

      • Virgo rising natives are known for tolerance, calmness, and modesty—qualities seen in Rajiv Gandhi.
      • A triple Leo configuration (Ascendant, Moon sign, and Navamsa) would more likely produce an extroverted, dominating, or forceful personality, which does not align with observed facts.

      3. Interrupted Education

      • Rajiv Gandhi's education was interrupted before obtaining a bachelor's degree.
      • From Leo Ascendant: 5th lord Jupiter is in the Lagna with the Lagna lord Sun, which supports good education.
      • From Virgo Ascendant: 5th lord Saturn is in the 10th, aspected by Gulika. Its sign lord Jupiter is in the 12th, and the 5th is occupied by Ketu. These indicate an interruption in education, possibly before degree completion, though further efforts could have helped him advance had he pursued them.

      4. Career as a Pilot

      • Virgo Lagna has Gemini as the 10th house with Saturn (airy planet) in an airy sign, further reinforced in Navamsa. This supports an aviation career.
      • Leo Lagna fails to explain a pilot's career adequately. 10th lord Venus in Leo, conjunct Moon, is more indicative of arts, entertainment, or public glamour, not aviation.

      5. Love Marriage in a Foreign Country

      • In both charts, the 5th and 7th lords are the same planet (Saturn), so we focus on house placements.
      • Leo Ascendant: 7th lord Saturn in the 11th, aspecting Lagna and its lord Sun. This supports a conventional domestic marriage.
      • Virgo Ascendant: 7th lord Jupiter in the 12th with 12th lord Sun, suggesting foreign influence and out-of-tradition marriage.
      • The 9th house (religion and tradition) is afflicted in the Virgo chart: 9th lord Venus in 12th, close to enemy Moon and debilitated in Navamsa, allowing for interfaith marriage.

      6. Long Foreign Stay and Return

      • Leo Ascendant: Fixed sign rising, with Lagna lord in a fixed sign and fixed Navamsa, not favorable for long-term foreign residence.
      • Virgo Ascendant: Lagna lord Mercury is in the 12th with its lord Sun, strongly favoring a long stay abroad. In Chalit Chakra, both shift to Lagna, indicating eventual return.
      • According to Satyacharya, the 7th house rules foreign journeys. In the Virgo chart, 7th lord Jupiter and its Rasi/Navamsa dispositor Sun are all in the 12th—strong confirmation.

      7. Progeny (Children)

      • Leo Ascendant: Gulika in the 5th, aspected by malefic Saturn and Mars (Badhak and 6th lord); Jupiter (Karaka and 5th lord) is combust and aspected by Saturn. Not supportive of progeny.
      • Virgo Ascendant: Though afflicted, the 5th house and its lord suffer less, suggesting relatively better outcomes.

      8. Sudden Rise and Fall

      • Both charts show the Moon under the influence of six planets, but:
        • Leo Chart: Moon in Lagna.
        • Virgo Chart: Moon in the 12th—favorable for sudden highs and lows.
      • The Virgo chart shows 10th lord Saturn, known for creating dramatic rises and falls.
      • Rajiv Gandhi rose to power swiftly and fell from grace due to the Bofors scandal, consistent with the Virgo chart.
      • Leo Ascendant’s 6th lord in 11th supports overcoming enemies.
      • Virgo Ascendant’s 6th lord in 10th suggests obstacles and defamation from enemies—again matching historical events.

      9. Nature of Death

      • Leo Chart: Lagna lord Sun and 8th lord Jupiter are in Lagna, with a benefic association—suggests longevity. The 8th house (Pisces) is a mild, watery sign with benefic aspects, not indicative of explosive death.
      • Virgo Chart: 8th lord Mars in Lagna, Lagna lord Mercury in 12th. The 8th house (Aries) is fiery and cruel, within the aspect of Mars.
      • The Navamsa analysis:
        • From Virgo Lagna, the 64th Navamsa from Lagna is Aries, with multiple malefic aspects, matching his violent end.
        • Saturn’s transit at death was from Capricorn, squaring this point, validating the Prashna Marga rule (Saturn’s square transit from 64th Navamsa causes death).
      • These combinations do not work convincingly in the Leo chart.

      10. Mother’s Death

      • Leo Chart: 4th house is only mildly afflicted; the 4th lord is relatively strong.
      • Virgo Chart: The 4th house has multiple malefic aspects, including Gulika. Its lord Jupiter is in the 12th with combust Sun. In Navamsa too, the 4th house suffers.
        • Dashas at the time of Indira Gandhi’s death (Rahu–Jupiter) also fit the Virgo ascendant better: Rahu in the 8th from 4th, and Jupiter combust in the 12th from 4th.

      11. Family Pattern

      • Shri Rajiv Gandhi’s family—including his grandfather (Pandit Nehru), mother (Smt. Indira Gandhi), and brother (Sanjay Gandhi)—were born with even Ascendants. This suggests the likelihood of Virgo (even) Lagna for him as well.

      12. Final Thought

Let us remember that only the Divine is infallible. Still, a rational and evidence-based approach should guide us in astrology. In this comparative assessment, Virgo ascendant with Capricorn Navamsa emerges as the more plausible and astrologically sound chart for Shri Rajiv Gandhi. It explains his nature, career, education, marriage, rise and fall, death, and family legacy far better than the Leo version.

I invite learned readers to study the matter with an open mind, without prejudice.
